HEMSCHEIDT Rail’s automatic wheel wear compensation system (HEAS) is an innovative solution for equalizing wheel wear in trains such as light rail vehicles (LRV), high-speed trains, regional trains and metro systems.
It automatically compensates for uneven loads, varying running distances on different axles, and the stresses coming from negotiating tight curves. This ensures a balanced positioning of the vehicle, significantly extending the vehicle availability.
The system works with hydraulic auto-shimming technology that can be integrated into both the primary and secondary suspension. The stepless height adjustment completely eliminates the need for manual shimming. The sensor system and control unit allow for precise, automated adjustment during maintenance – optionally also during vehicle operation.
